Dear Parents/ Carers

Hope you are all feeling well and safe and are finding time to look after your own well being. Remember – you are just as important as the children! I just want to say a huge thank you to you all for the fabulous job you are doing at home with your children, we understand how difficult home learning is when families are trying to fit it in with other commitments.

Lexia

All children have a Lexia account which has been purchased by the school. For this to benefit the children and help with their reading and comprehension progression they need to be on the programme at least 3 times a week for approximately 20 minutes. We will put this into the weekly remote learning timetable but if you could ensure that your child is accessing this provision,  it will really benefit them.

Google Meets

Please make sure you check your child’s timetable at the beginning of every week for the booked Google meet sessions. These sessions will be a mixture of learning and well being for the children, and it’s important that they attend all their groups, if possible. The school has a responsibility to ensure the children at home are accessing learning and that they are fit and well both emotionally and physically. If your child does not attend the sessions it means that we will have to keep contacting you by telephone or in some cases by pavement calls to ensure that we are aware of your child’s well being. If your child cannot be in a meet for whatever reason then please just drop the teacher an email to let us know.

Statutory Testing

I am sure most of you are aware that the Government has cancelled all statutory testing for this academic year. When children return fully to school they will receive some tests as a normal part of the school’s assessment calendar.

Half Term

The school will be closed for half term from 15.02.2021 – 19.02.2021. During this period there will not be any remote learning set and there will not be anyone in school.

Finally, we are getting feedback from parents/carers about how home learning can be adapted and improved. We welcome this feedback and if you feel we can improve anything then please continue to let us know.

Any problems or queries please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Take care.

Kind regards

Mrs K Verity
