Relationships, Health and Sex Education

As part of our PSHCE curriculum we teach the RSE curriculum. This is in line with the statutory guidance to introduce compulsory health education, relationships education and relationships and sex education (RSE) as well as with our policy and needs of our children.

PSCHE is taught in all year groups following the resources and lesson plans based upon the PSHCE Association but it is also carefully adapted to the needs of our children. PSCHE education is a school subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepared for life and work. Through teaching this subject, we aim to develop skills and attributes such as resilience, self-esteem, risk-management, team working and critical thinking in the context of three core themes: health and wellbeing, relationships and living in the wider world (including economic wellbeing and aspects of careers education).
